The importance of a good planning for your fashion brand
Today I want to tell you the importance of a good planning for you fashion brand. In the last years every time I get into a clothing store or a shop I see most of the clothes are copied from other brands and the quality looks very cheap.
Have you ever asked yourself why the most famous brand in the world like Gucci, Louis vuitton, Chanel etc are so loved? It is not because they are expensive, to me the answer is only one…collection planning.
Since the beginning of fashion every designer has invented something caratteristic for its brand like Yives Saint Laurent with his sahariana, Armani with his jakets or Vivienne Westwood with her 16th century corsets, but now there is nothing to invent. The better way to make a good and selling collection is a good planning.
If you have a fashion brand I want you know that you costumers aren’t stupids, when they look at your product in the store they are able to recognize if it is good article or not. People are getting very tired of bad fashion, usually a product costs to much compared to its quality.
Most friends of mine are moaning that clothes aren’t good like fifteen years ago and I am afraid to say that they are totally right. The interesting thing is that they are not connected with fashion system which means, that most of the articles are very low quality and there is not a good planning behid them.
I know this is a very hot matter, the main problem is that fashion facrtories want to earn money as much as they can at the expense of quality. Usually they copy big griffes trends and the majority part use chinese dressmakers and pattern makers (most of times they are not well prepared like italians ones).
They forget to put some personality and to respect quality only to make more money, the result is that at the season fairs presentations most of the brand have all the same models, colours and terrible quality.
Collection planning is a very good thing because If you do it accurately can make the difference beetwen your brand and the rest of the world.I am not saying that you have to make stange things, almost nobody ask for spectacular models.
People appreciate attention to details,to stitches and usually they love well done prints with clever phrases, I know a lots of girls who will buy a t-shirt with a smart sentence. Don’t believe in people who say that nobody won’t read a sentence on a t-shirt, I always read on clothes and I know you do as well.
