Where you can find good idas for your collection planning
There are many ways to get ideas all over the world. I have never been to America so I can suggest you some place where you will find good ideas Italy and England.
Bologna:
In Italy a place where I like to go is Bologna market which is a good place for finding vintage and new things. Usually vintage clothes are on the top of a ill and new ones are in a square place in front of the hill. Also there are lost of shops along the main street who brings to Piazza Maggiore. All this in very close to the rail station so you can get there very easily by walk.
Florence:
Another interesting place Is Florence, every fashion designer who works for a brand or has its own office can visit Pitti Filati. This fair is situated in a place called Fortezza da Basso, Pitti Filati is organized by Pitti Immagine. The fair is all about knitting materials that fashion is made of. The centre of the town is also a good way to get some new idea or at least for see great designer collection especially if you go to Luisa via Roma which is in front of Florence cathedral. The fair and the centre are quite close to the rail station.
Milan:
The most famous city in the world for fashion is Milan. The centre of the city is a very good place where you can find any kind of shop, if you like famous brands you must go to via Montenapoleone where you will find Gucci, Versace, Louis vuitton, Cavalli etc.. Milan has also a seasonal fair called Milano Unica which is like Pitti Filati but instead of knitwear you will find any kind of material and accessories. Unfortunately at this fair nobody is allowed to take pictures of tendances panels.
London:
If you live in London you are very luky person…because there are many places where you can find any sort of idea. This is one of the main place where fashion designers go to get ispirations.
Portobello road is known for its used stuff, usaually tourists stop at the beginning of the hill being sure that they will find nothing on top of it, but they are totally wrong. If you reach the top you will find a lot of young people who make theire own clothes and accesories.
Camden town is another market where everything ia available it is quite big so to vist everything you should stay an entire day.
Spitalfields Market is my favorite, it is situated into Brik Lane district. It is smaller tha Camden Town but is much more interesting. Lots of creative peole and artists live there and sell theire creations in very small stalls, I found fantastc ideas there, you must go and see them I am sure you will love it.
There are other places in London where you can find ideas like Coven Garden, Regent Streets etc… but mainly you will see the normal shops like Aldo, Zara, Top Shop etc.. I hope my advices will help you to find the ispiration. Personally I don’t like Italy for get informations, usually I go to London because it’s a city who offer you a multitude of cultures, differents styles and it helps my creativity a lot.
